The parents of a severely ill baby boy who suffers up to 100 seizures a day are fighting to prolong his life with cannabis oil.
Nathaniel Leahy was born a “perfectly healthy and happy baby boy” to his parents Lauren Abernethy and James.
However at three months old, Nathaniel, who had been smiling and even learning to roll over, had a seizure and was admitted to hospital.
Doctors put the now 10-month-old into an induced coma, which he woke from two days later and his family thought he would be coming home.
Sadly the youngster’s condition deteriorated and he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called mitochondrial which was causing epileptic seizures.
