“I thought about legacy and what I was going to leave for my children and my children’s children. Cannabis is a way to be able to do that through entrepreneurship in this billion-dollar industry. And I don’t just want that for me, I want that for people who look like me,” said Smith-Bolden, who is African-American. “Making sure there are clear paths to entrepreneurship, there are clear paths to being able to learn and grow their businesses, that there are opportunities for partnerships and to receive support from the city, that’s important.”
