Cannabis oil health food and drinks on a high

Irish companies are hoping to cash in on the increased popularity of cannabidiol (CBD), offering products ranging from CBD-infused chocolate to natural juices.

A variety of health claims have been made about the cannabis plant extract, prompting companies such as Coca-Cola to consider infusing their products with CBD. According to a report jointly authored by global market research outfits Technavio and Research and Markets, the CBD oil industry is already worth €595m globally but is set to grow to €2.3bn by 2022.
