SMOKING cannabis just five times as a teenager increases the risk of psychosis, new research suggests.
Fresh evidence has been uncovered by scientists that smoking the drug as a teen can lead to mental health problems.
It also showed that people who had used cannabis as a teenager and had psychotic experiences early in life experienced more psychoses during a 15 year period of study.
In some cases, the research, led by Finnish researchers, showed smoking dope can drive some to consider taking their own lives.
