Greenlight pots €1.4m for cannabis study

Greenlight’s James Linden is becoming the cannabis king of Ireland. He told me that his innovative pharma group has just secured €1.4m in backing to expand his research into the medicinal effects of cannabinoids on epilepsy. The taxpayer is getting on board for the trip via state-funded Science Foundation Ireland. It must have been quite a pitch.

He has also bagged funding from Northern Ireland’s Department for Employment and Learning to carry out research at Ulster University on the impact of weed on inflammation, and another chunk of cash from the Irish Research Council to look into dope’s cancer-fighting abilities.
