Marijuana dispensaries aren’t magnets for crime, study says

Conventional wisdom says marijuana dispensaries make neighborhoods less safe, but a new study suggests the conventional wisdom is wrong and that crime increases after cities move to close pot shops.

The research may help shape conversations in Southern California communities, including Long Beach, helping them hammer out timetables, regulations and tax structures for legal pot.
