MacColl to oversee CSU-Pueblo’s cannabis research, programming

Colorado State University-Pueblo has a new director for its Institute of Cannabis Research.

Officials announced Monday that Wendy MacColl, director of eLearning at Pikes Peak Community College, has been hired as the permanent director of the institute.

She replaced Jen Mullen, who retired as interim managing director of the institute last month.

Mullen became interim director on Nov. 1, 2016.

“It’s really a historic kind of appointment, honestly,” MacColl said Monday.

“It’s being on the verge of something new in a growing industry.”

MacColl was finishing her first full day in the position Monday.

“My roll really is more as a manager and helping out to make things run smoothly,” she said.

CSU-Pueblo Provost Rick Kreminski said the institute had a great first year, ably led by Mullen.
