Irish girl Ava Barry to begin cannabis treatment in Holland today – Newstalk 106

A medicinal cannabis campaigner, who walked from Cork to Dublin to raise awareness, says her daughter will begin treatment in The Netherlands today.

Vera Twomey’s child Ava suffers from a severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome, which can be treated with medicinal cannabis oil.

She posted a video to Facebook, confirming the seven-year-old is to begin receiving CBD and THC medication today.

“We’ve been here now for the last few days and today we had a doctor’s appointment and we have begun Ava initally on her treatment.

“Her CBD and THC medication has been prescribed, and that medication will be issued tomorrow – and we’ll begin Ava on the combination of CBD and THC medication in the morning.”
