Caught with a large amount of high potency cannabis oil in his car last November, a Gloucester man was ordered to pay more than $1,400 in fines after pleading guilty Wednesday in Newburyport District Court.
Kyle J. Corrao, 33, of Concord Street, was initially charged with marijuana distribution and three motor vehicle offenses after his arrest on Nov. 18, 2016.
But as part of a plea deal with an Essex County prosecutor Wednesday, the distribution charge was reduced to marijuana possession of more than an ounce. He pleaded guilty to that charge and to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Corrao was found responsible for not having an inspection sticker and not responsible for a number plate violation.
In an rare moment during his plea deal, Corrao made it known he wasn’t pleased with his attorney when asked by Judge Allen Swan. Corrao quickly recanted, realizing it might complicate his plea arrangement.
